Welcome to Chaplin’s, Lygon Street’s newest little obsession-where Melbourne’s food-and-wine crowd comes to flirt with flavor.
Tucked into the heart of Carlton, we’re a wine bar built for people who don’t just drink wine, they experience it. Think rare drops and cult classics poured with zero pretence and a lot of good taste- by-the-glass gems, grower Champagne, small-batch Euro darlings, and local bottles that deserve a standing ovation. Our list is curated for the curious: crisp, textural whites, silky reds, and the kind of pours you’ll still be thinking about tomorrow.
And because wine loves company, the snacks here don’t play backup. Expect a tight, glamorous menu designed for slow evenings and fast cravings: freshly shucked oysters with yuzu mignonette, Perello Gordal olives, little Spanish fish in tins on sourdough toast, Skinner & Hackett charcuterie, a Chaplin’s three cheese plate, house-made terrine with cornichons, and more.
